Who Am I
Hello! My name is Zachery Woodruff, an 18-year-old musician and first-year student at the University of Oregon.
I am pursuing a 4-year course of study, majoring in Trombone Performance with a dual minor in Music Production and Music Technology. My goal is to hone my abilities to provide myself with the platform to succeed in my musical aspirations while making a positive impact on those around me along the way.
I am an optimistic, hard-working individual known for my musical endeavors and participation in the arts community alongside my academic prowess and iconic backwards baseball cap. Others have described me as "a dependable moral compass," "a once-in-a-career student," "the best student I have had in 27 years," and "resemblant of a Golden Retriever." I pride myself on my rigorous, demonstrated academic success and my extracurricular activities.
My dream is to make music for the world and encourage others to do what they love while breaking the negative stigma that being a musician isn't supposedly a real career. I have been in jazz and classical ensembles for six years, producing and writing my own pop/indie songs on the sidelines. I've strived to involve myself with my local music community as much as possible with numerous leadership and volunteer positions. I've had the privilege of being a drum major and section leader for the past few years and have learned invaluable lessons from my experiences that I hope to share with others.
