Who Am I

I am excited and interested in the opportunity to learn from your company as well as apply my advanced skill-set to support and enhance your firm. As an accomplished rising second-year law student at Howard University School of Law (H.U.S.L), I am confident that my effective analytical skills, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and capacity to quickly learn new concepts would be a perfect fit for this position. As a legal intern, I am currently gaining significant experience in the ability to be flexible within dynamic environments, apply my self-starter mentality, and further sharpen my instinct to “put out fires” before they have a chance to be sparks.

I have been able to capitalize on various opportunities presented to me during my first year in law school. Some of these accomplishments include becoming the first legal intern in Essence Magazine history, being one of the inaugural cohort members of the Howard Entertainment Program, gaining a position in the H.U.S.L IP Trademark Clinic, Regarding my legal internship, I have the pleasure of being a part of milestones that gives me a myriad of experiences pertaining to entertainment law. Some of these milestones include, being part of a new and expanding in-house legal department, managing and tracking approximately 600 contracts for one event, providing legal support for one of the biggest festivals in the world, and delegating, communicating, and negotiating with other departments to ensure overall success for the company while mitigating any legal risk in its transactions.

Because of these experiences, I strongly believe that my skill set and personality would allow me to thrive in any situation and perpetuate your company's already outstanding reputation. I am looking to soak in the qualities and lessons that the associate position has to offer. I look forward to the opportunity to be immersed in a professional environment indicative of the company's excellence towards serving its clients. I ask that you consider my application. If any additional information is needed, I will send it as soon as possible. Thank you for your consideration; I look forward to speaking with you.
